Arie de Knijff
Sadly, Arie passed away in July 2004, aged 61. He had been a nature photographer for over 20 years. His particular area of expertise was bird photography with a preference for Arctic and Sub-arctic birds, especially gulls and waders. His passion for bird photography took him to Finland, Russia and Canada. He also visited Spain where he photographed Lesser Kestrel and Great Bustards.
Arie was a carpenter from the Western part of the Netherlands, a stone’s throw away from many renowned bird spots where he often went to photograph the resident bird species.
He was an enthusiastic Nikon man.
Arie was a quiet man but honest and always willing to share his knowledge with others. He was a good friend who will be missed.
